AMAZON RAINFOREST

Where is the Amazon Rainforest?

It is in South America, and it extends to 8 different countries: Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname and French Guinea.

Interesting facts


  • The Amazon is the world's largest tropical rainforest with 5.5 million square kilometres!
  • The Amazon river is the second longest river in the world, it is 6400 kilometres long.


  • In the Amazon you can find around 40000 plant species, 1300 bird species, 3000 types of fish, 430 mammals and 2.5 million of different insects.
  • There is a strange fish, called Pirarucu, that can be 3 metres long!





What can I do at the Amazon Rainforest?


There are lots of things to do in the Amazon Rainforest. You can walk a lot, explore and look for lots of different plants and animals, learn about the wild life in the jungle, know the small villages near the Amazon and their lifestyle and try their exotic food! But don't forget all the dangerous animals: jaguars, anacondas, prianhas... Be careful with them!
